Admission Policy of Brevard Academy -
Admission to Brevard Academy is open to all students, grades K-8, who are eligible to attend North Carolina Public Schools, subject to the enrollment limit of Brevard Academy. Kindergartners must be 5 years of age by August 31st to be admitted. Brevard Academy expects parents and students to sign the Brevard Academy Family Agreement indicating their commitment to the mission and philosophy of Brevard Academy.
In the event that the number of applicants received by the cutoff date exceeds the available spaces, a lottery will be implemented to determine admission. If a lottery becomes necessary, a date will be chosen shortly after the cutoff date to implement the lottery. Names will be drawn from a box equal to the number of available spaces. If any additional names remain, they will be drawn and placed on a waiting list in the order they are drawn to be used in the event that future openings become available. The results of the lottery will be mailed to all applicants. If at any point the decision is made to not attend Brevard Academy, please notify us immediately in writing so that we can notify a student on the waiting list that a space is available.
Student/Parent handbooks will be distributed at the start of the school year. If you wish to view a copy before the beginning of the school year, please come by the school's office.
In addition to the forms listed below, students enrolling at Brevard Academy will be required to have the following records:
- Certified birth certificate
- Social security card with child's social security number
- Up-to-date immunization record
- Record of physical examination (medical form from doctor)
