The Amazing Shake at Brevard Academy
Building confidence. Practicing professionalism. Preparing students for the real world.
April 30 - May 1
(2 day event)
The Amazing Shake is a dynamic, real-world style contest where students are challenged to make strong first impressions, think on their feet, and interact respectfully with adults and peers.
Through fast-paced interview, networking, and problem-solving stations, students practice skills like a proper handshake, eye contact, clear communication, and poise under pressure.
Brevard Academy is bringing The Amazing Shake to our school to help students build confidence, develop essential communication and leadership skills, and prepare for future academic and professional success. This initiative supports our commitment to educating the whole child—equipping students not only with knowledge but also with the character and interpersonal abilities needed to thrive in any environment.
Why Brevard Academy is hosting the amazing shake?
-
Students are scored for each activity on a scale of 1 to 20 points. It's important to remember that a score of 10/20 is NOT a bad score. This just means you have some things to improve on as you move on through The Amazing Shake.
Scores are given in increments of 5: 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20. A score of 20 means the student completed the task and went above and beyond expectations. A score of 10 means the student completed the task and did a good job. A score of 0 means the student did not complete the task or did not make any effort.
