Jana Manaker
Hi everyone!
My name is Jana and I’m so excited to join the Brevard Academy community. I grew up in Chattanooga, TN and moved to Brevard to complete my undergrad in Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education at Brevard College. In 2018 I moved out to Colorado to pursue my Masters in Human Learning & Development through the Reggio-inspired teacher education program housed at Boulder Journey School in partnership with the University of Colorado- Denver. I have spent many years teaching and or working with children of all ages in various roles, from formal classroom settings to the great outdoors.
This year in our classroom, I will offer opportunities for the students and community to have shared experiences in a supportive, mindful environment that fosters creativity, independence, and social confidence, while respecting each child’s needs and rights. We will elevate one another and challenge each other to dig deeper, create, and think critically with our minds and our hearts. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, gardening, finding new music, binge watching Netflix, going to live shows, and being outside!
